Message From Our Chapter President

Greetings to All!

My name is Mark Kopchak. I am the residing President of Central Connecticut Tres Dias, a community of believers in the Truth about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

So if your number one question is “What is Tres Dias” I will attempt a brief explanation.  In very basic terms, the essence of the Tres Dias experience is a 3 day weekend retreat; hence, the organizations’ name (Tres Dias is Spanish for “3 days”).  In Tres Dias we have a weekend saying “Participate, don’t anticipate”. This is intentional. However, I can say that the weekend experience can be looked upon as a mystery which only God can reveal to each individual.  It can mean different things for different people. Essentially, the weekend centers on lessons or teachings shared by lay persons and clergy about the values God holds in esteem as well as His Character.  We are asked to reflect upon whether or not our life’s values align with God’s values and if not, participants are afforded ways and means to help re-align our values to His.  I can’t get too much more specific.

Tres Dias is truly a Christian organization in all its respects.  For a quick reference to our Statement of Beliefs, click here. DENNIS, MAKE A LINK HERE IN THE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE.

There are many teachings, about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the community of faith, all of which are supported by Holy Scripture, and are generally applicable to all Christian ecumenical denominations; commonalities are emphasized among the family of God and bridge a lot of the gaps in our understanding.  This is instrumental in our further spiritual endeavors to become the unified Body of Christ.  Scripture instructs us to Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”.

As mentioned, there are many elements of Tres Dias that you will eventually come to understand.  One such is that the weekend does not end with the completion of the 3 days; rather, it begins with what is called the “Fourth Day”. Everyone has a Fourth Day. The experience is actively shared in the presence of other truth seekers and our community strongly believes is existential in its nature.   Everything has been carefully designed (1971 to present) to build upon the solid foundation; For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ is our bread of life: For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

As mentioned, the weekend is the essence of a lay led movement.  It is a time of Spiritual refreshing, renewal and formation.  All participants will leave refreshed and encouraged to serve God and man (Matthew 25: 34-30).  Tres Dias is a church builder.  The experience will not only penetrate the mind, but will enter into the believer’s heart and then into their hands and feet to bring forth the news of the Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.

The weekend is replete with wonderful Spirit filled surprises. The Community tries not to ruin the surprises so do not be discouraged if your sponsor is reluctant to share everything he or she knows about the weekend with you beforehand.  It is enough to know that there will be many people praying for you before, during and after you attend your first weekend.

There is perhaps no greater resource to energize a Christian into a position of church leadership, acting in love to serve the greater body of Christ by joyfully sacrificing for others.

When you arrive the question in your mind will be “Why am I here?” or “What is it all about?” You will leave knowing in your heart that God seeks to impact the world through you. The only question remaining is “How?”  And so begins the Fourth Day.

Loving God. Loving People.
